Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon softened butter or mayo
- 2–3 slices cheese (sharp cheddar, American, provolone, Swiss, gouda, or a combo)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F for 3–5 minutes.
- Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place one slice, butter-side down, and layer the cheese on top, leaving space from the edges. Top with the second slice, butter-side up, and gently press together. Secure with a toothpick.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 4–5 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3–4 minutes until both sides are golden brown and cheese is melted. Adjust cooking time based on bread type and thickness.
- Remove from the air fryer, take out the toothpick, slice, serve, and enjoy.
Notes
Use your favorite type of bread for varied flavor and texture.
For extra cheesy goodness, mix different types of cheese.
