Description

These Baked Apple Cider Donuts burst with flavor and warmth. Made with fresh apple cider, rich spices, and a buttery cinnamon coating, they are a delightful treat for any occasion, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk together.
  3. In another large bowl, mix apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk until combined.
  5. Pour the batter into greased donut molds, filling each mold about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 7-9 minutes until edges are golden and tops spring back when pressed.
  7. Let the donuts cool for about 2 minutes, then gently remove them onto a sheet tray.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Brush the tops of the donuts with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure the donut molds are well greased to prevent sticking.
These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Experiment with different spices or add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
