Description

Enjoy mouthwatering BBQ Chicken Thighs that are easy to prepare and bursting with flavor. Perfect for quick dinners or backyard gatherings, these thighs are coated in a delicious homemade BBQ sauce and grilled to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2.5 lbs chicken thighs boneless skinless
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 cup homemade southern bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chicken thighs with brown sugar, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and avocado oil. Mix well and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Remove chicken from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat while the chicken warms up.
  4. Place chicken thighs on the grill and reduce heat to medium. Close the lid and grill for a few minutes on each side until charred with grill marks.
  5. Once nearly cooked through, brush both sides of the chicken with BBQ sauce and move them to indirect heat to let the sauce soak in and finish cooking.
  6. When the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 175-190°F (or 165°F for white meat), remove from the grill and serve with extra BBQ sauce.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for even more flavor.
Adjust the spice levels by adding more chili powder if you like it hot.
Make sure to have extra BBQ sauce on hand for serving.
