Description

These BBQ Ribs are a delightful treat with their sticky glaze and tender meat. Made with simple ingredients like baby back ribs and a flavorful rub, this dish promises irresistible flavor, making it an ideal choice for gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F, placing an oven rack in the center. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil and mix the dry rub ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Remove the ribs from packaging and rinse under cold water; dry well with paper towels. If there's a membrane, lift it with a knife, grip it with a paper towel, and peel it off.
  3. Lay the ribs, meaty side down, on a large piece of foil. Apply about one-third of the seasoning to the bony side, rubbing it thoroughly. Flip the ribs and season the meaty side fully. Wrap the ribs in foil and place the packet on the baking sheet. For two racks, season separately and wrap them in separate foil pieces. Transfer to the oven.
  4. Bake for 2 hours or until very tender when pierced with a fork.
  5. Take the ribs out and switch the oven to the BROIL setting. Open the foil and move the ribs to the baking sheet, meaty side down. Baste the bony side with BBQ sauce, then flip and generously baste the meaty side. Broil for 4 to 6 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
  6. Remove and let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing into individual ribs using a serrated knife.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the ribs overnight with the rub ingredients.
You can customize the spiciness by adjusting the cayenne pepper to taste.
Pair the ribs with your favorite side dishes, like coleslaw or cornbread.
