Description

This Berry Trifle is a mouthwatering treat! With layers of whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and blueberries, it’s simple to prepare and perfect for gatherings or special occasions. Ideal for those seeking easy and flavorful dessert options!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 angel food cake (or pound cake, 10 to 12 ounces)
  • 2 pounds strawberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together the seedless strawberry jam, lemon juice, honey, and ¼ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  2. Slice the angel food cake into cubes and layer them in a trifle dish or glass bowl.
  3. Add half of the whipped cream mixture over the cake cubes, followed by half of the sliced strawberries and blueberries.
  4. Drizzle half of the prepared sauce over the fruit layer and repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Top the trifle with additional whipped cream and garnish with whole berries if desired. Serve chilled.

Notes

You can substitute the angel food cake with pound cake for a denser texture.
Fresh berries are best for flavor, but you can use frozen berries if necessary; just thaw and drain them before using.
For added flavor, consider adding a splash of orange juice to the fruit layers.
