Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
  • ¼ cup salt
  • enough water to cover peanuts

Instructions

  1. Sort through the raw peanuts to remove any debris and rinse them well.
  2. Soak the peanuts in cold water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
  3. Place the peanuts in the crockpot and add salt.
  4. Cover the peanuts with water, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  5. Set the crockpot to high and cook for 7½ hours, or until desired tenderness is achieved.
  6. Taste the peanuts halfway through and adjust salt if necessary.
  7. Monitor the water level during cooking and add more as needed to keep peanuts submerged.
  8. Once tender, drain the peanuts and enjoy warm.

Notes

You can adjust the cooking time based on your texture preference—cook longer for softer peanuts.
Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings besides salt for extra flavor.
These boiled peanuts can be stored for later snacking.
