This Easy Black Bean Dip features rich flavors from black beans, jalapeños, and spices, perfect for gatherings or a healthy snack. Simple to prepare and absolutely satisfying!

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium red onion, chopped small
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
- 2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, plus more for serving
- vegan cheese, optional
- pickled red onions, optional
Instructions
- Warm olive oil in a small pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped red onion, minced garlic, and chopped jalapeños, sauté for about 5-8 minutes, stirring frequently; then remove from heat.
- In a food processor, combine drained black beans, sautéed onion/garlic/pepper mix, ground cumin, salt, lime juice, and cilantro; process until smooth, leaving some texture if desired.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish, garnish with additional cilantro, and optional vegan cheese and pickled red onions. Serve with tortilla chips.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the spice level by using more or fewer jalapeños.
This dip can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
