Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (16 ounces) chicken broth
- ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts to ½ to ¾ inch thickness or slice large breasts in half horizontally.
- Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a shallow bowl, place the flour and dredge the chicken lightly, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. The chicken doesn't need to be fully cooked at this stage. Transfer it to a plate and set aside.
Notes
Pounding the chicken ensures even cooking.
You can use milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
Garnishing with fresh parsley enhances the dish’s flavor and presentation.
