- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary or other add-in
- 2/3 cup (160g/ml) water
- 3 tablespoons (41g/45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing on top
- flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary.
- Add water and olive oil, stirring until the dough forms a clump.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead until no longer sticky, about 1 to 2 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Divide dough in half, keeping one half covered while rolling the other.
- On a floured surface, roll out one half into a thin rectangle, about 1/16th of an inch thick.
- Cut into rectangles approximately 3 x 1.5 inches and place on baking sheet.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Poke holes in crackers with a fork, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy, rotating sheets halfway through.
- Let cool completely before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
To re-crisp, bake in a single layer at 350°F for 10 minutes.
These crackers pair well with hummus, crab dip, or cheese.
