Description

These Key Lime Pie Bars offer a delightful combination of sweet and tangy flavors with a smooth texture, making them an easy and delightful dessert for gatherings or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter (melted)
  • 28 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • ¾ cup key lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving handles, and lightly grease it.
  3. Combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted butter in a mixing bowl, then press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, egg yolks, key lime juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Pour the filling over the crust and spread evenly. If desired, sprinkle lime zest on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until set.
  7. Let cool at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours before slicing into bars.

Notes

For a tangier flavor, increase the amount of key lime juice.
Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
The crust can be made ahead for convenience.
