- 2 to 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 6 to 12 peperoncini peppers
- 3 tablespoons liquid from the jar (optional)
- 1 (1-oz) packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 (1-oz) packet ranch dressing mix
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Spray a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray and prepare the ingredients.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and add it to the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Surround the chicken with peperoncini peppers and pour the optional liquid from the jar. Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix and ranch dressing mix over the chicken evenly.
- Cut the butter into tablespoons and place them on top of the seasoned chicken.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2.5 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6-8 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- After cooking, transfer the chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the chicken into chunks using two forks.
- Return the chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir to combine. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
